Florida sophomore guard Kajus Kublickas is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to college basketball insider Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68.

The move marks the first portal departure for the reigning national champion Gators this offseason.

Kublickas, a 6-foot-2 guard from Lithuania, saw limited action during Florida’s 2024–25 title run.

He appeared in six games, averaging just 4.2 minutes per contest. He shot 20% from the field and did not connect on any of his 3-point attempts.

Despite the small role, Kublickas was part of a historic season in Gainesville, as the Gators knocked off Houston to win the program’s third national title.

As a freshman, Kublickas played in nine games, tallying seven total points, four assists, three rebounds and a steal.

Before coming to Florida, he played in Lithuania for Zalgiris II during the 2022–23 season, where he posted solid numbers—9.1 points and 3.3 assists per game across 37 contests—and helped his team win a second-division league championship.

Kublickas was expected to develop into a rotational piece at Florida, but with a stacked backcourt and the program's recent success on the court and in the recruiting trail, playing time remained scarce in Gainesville.

Florida head coach Todd Golden now faces his first roster change of the offseason after a dream season capped by a national championship.

With a strong core returning and portal interest running high, the Gators remain in a good position, but Kublickas’ departure opens up a scholarship spot heading into the spring.
