Two former Kentucky Wildcats, Keion Brooks Jr. and Sahvir Wheeler, ended up with the Washington Huskies following the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons respectively.

With most of the non-conference slate wrapped up, both players have proven that they belong in Seattle.

Brooks, a senior forward who spent three seasons in Lexington, has been particularly impressive during his second year with the Huskies.

The 6-foot-7 native of Fort Wayne, Indiana currently leads Washington in scoring with 20.1 points per game and in rebounds with 7.6 per game. Additionally, Brooks is shooting 49.4% from the field.

Wheeler, a senior guard who spent two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs prior to his two seasons with the Wildcats, has made an immediate impact in Seattle.

The 5-foot-9 native of New York, New York is Washington's second-highest scorer, averaging 15.6 points per game. He leads the team in assists with 7.1 per game. Additionally, Wheeler is shooting 44.3% from the field.

Both players were highly rated coming out of high school.

Brooks was a 5-star with a 0.9909 composite rating according to 247Sports. He was the No. 24 player nationally, the No. 6 small forward and the No. 2 player in the state of Indiana. Brooks is the No. 53 recruit in Kentucky history.

Wheeler was a 4-star recruit with a 0.9570 composite rating according to 247Sports. He was the No. 100 player nationally, the No. 8 point guard and the No. 10 player in the state of Texas.

Both players are on pace to have career years for Washington in 2023-24.
