UCLA Basketball: Confident Bruins Dam Oregon State in Win

Your UCLA Bruins are playing with confidence. It showed on Thursday night at Pauley Pavillion in a 71-63 win over Oregon State.

From the tip, Adem Bona took advantage of a size mismatch. He outmuscled the Beavers in the first half, scoring 14 points in the opening 20 minutes. He finished with 18 points.

Dylan Andrews also scored 18 points. Lazar Stefanovic added 15 points and Will McClendon had eight. 

Sebastian Mack, who is fighting a toe injury, was extremely uncomfortable on the court. He only played 14 minutes and scored five points. 

Bona scored 14 of his points in the first half. Take a look at the slam that opened the game.

Minutes later, Bona came through again. He rolled off a pick at the top of the key and split the defenders for two more points.

Stefanovic stayed hot from three-point land and hit his first three of the game from the corner.

The Bruins took a two-point lead into halftime. They shot 43 percent (12-for-28) and were 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Stefanovic continued to make it rain threes in the second half. He finished with three, three-pointers on the night.

Andrews led the Bruins with 13 points in the second half. He was 1-for-1 from behind the arc and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 20 minutes.

The Bruins, who with the win inch ever closer to a .500 record (10-11), return to action on Saturday night against Oregon at Pauley Pavilion. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
