UCLA-UNC men's basketball game canceled due to COVID-19; Tar Heels to play Kentucky instead

The eruption of Division I college basketball teams to have postponements and/or pauses in their season has continued Friday morning with officials scrambling to reschedule and reshuffle their contests.

One of the latest game cancellations involves two of the most storied programs in men's college basketball history in UCLA and UNC. Fortunately for one of the clubs, they have found a replacement opponent.

Among the litany of other postponements or cancellations over the last 24 hours have been Syracuse-Lehigh and Syracuse-Cornell, Penn State-VCU and Ohio State-Kentucky.

The Bruins are coming off of last season's run to the Final Four and are 9-1 this season. The Tar Heels are 7-2 under first-year head coach Hubert Davis.
