The No. 2 seed UConn Huskies women's basketball team won the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a convincing win over No. 1 South Carolina.

Paige Bueckers, Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd combined for 65 points and led UConn to an 82-59 victory over the defending champion Gamecocks.

As such, it marks the 12th national title for UConn head coach Geno Auriemma, who is a legend in every regard and continues to win national championships.

UConn's NCAA Tournament run included wins over Arkansas State, South Dakota State, Oklahoma, USC, and UCLA, meaning they defeated three No. 1 seeds (UCLA, USC and South Carolina) en route to a national championship.

Now, UConn is celebrating accordingly.

The championship parade is scheduled for Sunday, April 13, starting at 1 pm ET in downtown Hartford.

For the past two years coming into this one, the UConn men's team won the national title, and now it's the women's team who gets to celebrate.

The UConn women's team won four straight titles from 2013 to 2016, so this is the first championship in nearly a decade. The Huskies made the national title game in 2022 but lost to the Gamecocks, so it certainly meant more this time, especially in Bueckers' final game.

While the Bueckers era comes to an end, UConn can celebrate the national title.
