Unranked Arkansas hands No. 1 Auburn its first loss since November

The Arkansas Razorbacks beat the No. 1 Auburn Tigers, 80-76, in overtime Tuesday night in a tight back-and-forth game held in front of a raucous crowd.

Auburn's only other loss of the year came in November when the Tigers lost to Connecticut in double overtime. After that, Auburn won 19 straight and was undefeated in SEC play prior to Tuesday night.

Arkansas was led by JD Notae, who finished with 28 points, five rebounds, four blocks, three assists, and three steals. The win was the Razorbacks' ninth straight and the second victory against an AP No. 1 ranked team in school history.

Auburn dealt with foul trouble late in the game when Walker Kessler fouled out in overtime. The team's other four starters all finished with four fouls each. But potential No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Jabari Smith, refused to let the Tigers go quietly, nailing two three-pointers in the last 30 seconds to keep the pressure on Arkansas.

It wasn't enough though, as the Razorbacks hit enough free throws to keep the Tigers out of reach.
