The USC Trojans aren't through compiling their 2026 class on the hardwood. Eric Musselman and company are now prioritizing the nation's top-ranked center on the recruiting trail. Let alone a 7-foot-1 talent.
Arafan Diane turned to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal USC has offered him. The Iowa United Prep star posted his newest opportunity on Sunday.
Diane is also the state of Iowa's No. 1 overall talent. He's ascending on the recruiting spectrum as Diane holds 20 different scholarship offers. USC, however, now holds this distinction among the list of opportunities at Diane's disposal: The Trojans are his only California college offer.
But the Trojans aren't the only Big Ten university going after Diane. Indiana and Oregon offered him and are very much in pursuit of Diane. Minnesota is another recruiting him. Even in-state university Iowa has Diane as a priority for its own 2026 class.
The latter university appears to be ramping up its courting of Diane. Basketball scout Trent Markwith revealed the Hawkeyes as one of the schools stopping by Diane's club game on Friday. Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois and Washington also were on hand for his performance at the Augusta Live tournament. Markwith adds Illinois head coach Brad Underwood and Washington's Danny Sprinkle attended the event to watch Diane closely.
Before USC, Kentucky represented his most recent offer. The West Africa native is highly coveted for his size and scoring prowess. He's known to bulldoze opponents in the paint and finish with aggressive touch. But Diane maintains control of his feet once engaged with a defender. He's skilled at setting up screens with his massive frame. But he shows a solid shooting stroke too from long range.
Diane would become USC and Musselman's first verbal commit for 2026 if he chooses the Trojans. Musselman put together the nation's No. 8 overall recruiting class in 2025 that's spearheaded by five-star Alijah Arenas.
