Villanova guard Justin Moore out rest of NCAA Tournament with torn Achilles

What was expected in the immediate aftermath of Villanova guard Justin Moore's injury during the team's Elite Eight victory over Houston on Saturday was confirmed on Sunday.

Moore went down with the injury late in the second half of the contest, which the Wildcats won 50-44. The No. 2 seed in the South Region will face the No. 1 seed from the Midwest region — Kansas — in the national semifinals 6:09 p.m. ET on Saturday.

A junior, Moore ranks second on Villanova in both points (14.8) and assists per game (2.3), while placing third in rebounds per contest (4.8). Moore registered a .397/.356/.750 shooting line as well.

He was Second-Team All-Big East this year and was part of the All-South Region Team announced after Saturday's game.
