Over the years, sports fans have seen several events grind to a halt for various reasons unrelated to the game. However, the stoppage during Wednesday's Loyola Chicago Ramblers vs. Duquesne Dukes matchup has to be a first.

Officials didn't stop play on the court Wednesday because of a rowdy fan or an animal that found its way onto the hardwood. No, whistles blew for what appeared to be an on-court Uber Eats delivery.

"Who's he delivering it to? The ref?!"

Early in the second half, a man walked onto the floor, McDonald's in hand. Seemingly looking to fulfill the order, the man attempted to hand the food to the closest official, who aggressively gestured him off the floor.

It's unclear if the food found its proper owner or if it was still hot once it arrived. There's also a possibility that this was all one big practical joke. Maybe even a clever ad campaign for food delivery. Either way, it's one of the more unique moments in sports this year.

As for the game itself, the Dukes walked away with a 72-58 victory, improving to 14-7.

Three Duquesne players finished in double-figures. Starters Jimmy Clark III and Dae Dae Grant tied for the team lead with 13, while RJ Gunn had 12 points off the bench.
