Morgantown, WV - Texas Tech guard, and former Mountaineer, Joe Toussaint led all scorers with 21 points to lead the Red Raiders (20-8, 9-7) to an 81-70 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers (9-20, 4-12) Saturday night 81-70.

West Virginia opened the game shooting 7-10 from the field, including 3-6 from three-point range as the Mountaineers took a 20-4 lead at the 12:04 mark of the first half. 

After beginning the game shooting 1-11 from the field, the Red Raiders started to find a rhythm and put together a 13-2 run to cut the lead to two, 29-27 with 6:25 remaining in the half. 

West Virginia guards RaeQuan Battle and Kerr Kriisa and forward Quinn Slawinski answered with threes for a 9-0 run to extend the lead back to 11 but forward Darrion Willaims responded with a three and a pair of jumpers from former Mountaineer guard Joe Toussaint cut the advantage to six, 45-39, going into halftime. 

Texas Tech started the second half on an 8-2 run, tying the game at 47, but Slawinski answered with a three.

The Red Raiders clamped down on the Mountaineers in the second half and a 7-1 spurt, capped off with a steal from Toussaint followed with a layup had Texas Tech up five, 56-51, at the 14:12 mark of the second half. 

West Virginia scored six-straight to reclaim the lead, 57-56, but Texas Tech guard Pop Isaacs ended any momentum with a three to give the Red Raiders back the lead. 

Texas Tech took control of the game with an 11-3 run to go up eight with 4:31 remaining in the game and the Mountaineers never recovered as the Red Raider pulled away to take the 81-70 victory.
