The Wisconsin Badgers hand picked a solid 2026 recruiting class based on scheme and cultural fits, but now other programs are eyeing the commitments.
The defensive line had been an area in particular the Badgers improved through the 2026 class, but now the commitments along the line are slowly becoming more distant. Carmelow Reed, a 6-foot-7-inch defender, had been a coveted commitment along the defensive line for Wisconsin, but later flipped his commitment to Ole Miss following a visit.
Now, a fellow three-star Wisconsin commitment is on flip watch after stacking up multiple impressive scholarship offer following his verbal announcement. During the first day of official offers, another program was quick to the draw and extended an offer to Djidjou Bah before the Badgers did so. Michigan State has become one of many programs to watch moving forward as the commitment of Bah continues to be tested by defense-needy programs due to his versatility along the defensive line.
Other programs that have been in contact with Bah since his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers includes Missouri, NC State, Penn State, and Colorado. The Buffaloes are the most recent program to offer Bah, but the Spartans and Nittany Lions are currently the two programs who appear closest to Bah.
The defensive lineman previously stated that he would consider taking game-day visits to each program during the upcoming season which could be a sign that the Spartans and Nittany Lions staff members have grown increasingly close. It is unclear exactly how either program would utilize Bah, but the defender has leaned towards programs who will provide an avenue to play on the end or as a tackle in the future.
To this date, Wisconsin has not spoken with Bah about his commitment status and whether or not Bah will potentially flip his commitment is a mystery. Given his recent actions, however, the recruiting process for the defensive lineman is not over and the situation will be one the Wisconsin Badgers staff will have to monitor until national signing day.
Potentially losing Bah this late in the cycle would be a tough blow to the 2026 class for Wisconsin, as the 60th ranked class will likely plummet a bit farther down the ladder. The three-star recruit can bounce between defensive end and defensive tackle, creating plenty of versatility along the defensive line while adding extreme power and aggression.
Without Bah, Wisconsin will be down to just Arthur Scott in the 2026 class after once considering holding three defensive line commitments in the class. The loss of Bah would cause the Badgers to have to place an emphasis on adding through the 2027 recruiting class or the transfer portal in order to continue to keep the defensive line full of talent.
