Wisconsin basketball is seeking a holiday tournament championship this weekend. On Friday afternoon, the Badgers will face the UCF Knights in the opening round of the inaugural Greenbrier Tip-Off. These are the Badgers' first games away from home this season, and there will be hardware on the line.

However, when the Badgers (5-0) take the court, they will be down a player on the bench. Head coach Greg Gard has relied on his reserves for significant minutes this season. At least nine players have played for Gard in every game, and He has used ten or more players in four of five contests.

Wisconsin Basketball Guard Camren Hunter Out for Greenbrier Tip-Off

Camren Hunter did not travel with the Badgers this week to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. With the point guard slated to miss Friday's semifinal against UCF and Sunday's game against either LSU or Pitt, Hunter is slated to be out for four of the first seven games to start the college basketball season.

A team spokesperson told Athlon Sports that the junior has been battling an illness. Hunter was listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros but was not inside the Kohl Center UW's narrow 87-84 victory. He was also not with the team for Wisconsin's season-opener against Holy Cross, after which the Central Arkansas transfer was "battling a flu bug."

Hunter has played in one game for Wisconsin basketball this season. He recorded one minute against the App State Mountaineers, during which the 2022 ASUN Freshman of the Year tallied an assist.
