WVU Transfer Kobe Johnson Commits to Saint Louis

Former WVU guard Kobe Johnson announced on Sunday morning that he has committed to Saint Louis for his final season of college basketball. Johnson joins SLU first-year head coach Josh Schertz.

Johnson completed his visit over the weekend and leaving with a commitment.

Johnson played in 92 games for West Virginia, dating back to the 2021-22 season. The 6-foot-3 guard was originally recruited under Bob Huggins’ staff and Johnson stuck around following Huggins’ departure last summer. Johnson played 31 games and started 26 of them for former head coach Josh Eilert. Johnson averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. The Canton, Ohio native shot 43% from the field, 28% from three and 79% from the free throw line.

Johnson has one year of eligibility remaining.

Johnson is the fifth West Virginia transfer to commit to a new school as Patrick Suemnick (DePaul), Kerr Kriisa (Kentucky), Seth Wilson (Akron) and Josiah Harris (Akron) have all found new homes.
