Michigan State sophomore Coen Carr is one of the best athletes in the Tom Izzo era and he proved yet again that he’s a freak.

In case we all needed a reminder, yes, Coen Carr is still an absolute freak of an athlete.

Sleepers Media’s Carter Elliott — also a notable Spartan fan — posted an absurd clip of yet another Carr dunk on Tuesday that still hasn’t left my brain. It’s been 48 hours and I’m still think about how this dunk doesn’t make sense. The physics just don’t add up.

Take a look for yourself.

I mean, what are we even doing here? Carr showed some speed, racing ahead of all defenders on a fast break at an open gym and took off about two feet in front of the free throw line. Sure, he could have done a simple — yet thunderous — one-handed dunk and it would’ve still been impressive, but he decided to take it about 100 steps further. Not only did he take off from nearly the free throw line, but he threw it between his legs and the apex of his height was honestly unbelievable. As you can see in the video, his knee is literally at backboard level.

My brain has turned into mush trying to understand what I watched.

The offseason is basically just beginning so we are bound to see dozens more of these videos of Coen Carr at open gyms or just casually by himself, throwing down in some way we’ve never seen before. We’ve all season between-the-legs dinks, sure, but not from this far out and I didn’t even know it was possible to get that high.

Let’s hope Carr takes a big step forward this summer with his shooting and overall game because if he lives up to his potential, he could be one of the most special players to ever come through East Lansing.
