LSU women’s basketball recruiting pays a visit to top class of 2024 forward

After bringing in one of the best women’s basketball classes we’ve seen in recent memory during the 2023 cycle, LSU women’s basketball recruiting finds itself with some extra flexibility as the class of 2024 approaches its close.

As things stand, the purple and gold have just one commitment, as four-star point guard Jada Richard announced her pledge in April of 2023. While early signs point to this being the sole commit of the cycle, there’s a chance the Tigers could land another before things are all said and done.

Coach Kim Mulkey isn’t exactly the kind to relax when it comes to building a program. On Saturday, the Tigers hit the recruiting trail to watch as Grace Christian women’s basketball, of Sanford, NC who have officially earned the title of NCISAA 3A State Champions.

The Crusaders came out on top 82-33, beating High Point Christian Academy in dominating fashion, led by five-star class of 2024 forward Sarah Strong.

Strong, the top remaining LSU women’s basketball recruiting target also happens to be the top player in the entire class of 2024. Standing at 6-foot-2, the Grace Christian standout has been dominant all season long, and has a list of top remaining schools to match.

Among the other programs in attendance for her state championship win were Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina and UConn.

After leading her team in points (20.7), rebounds (16.7), steals (2.8) and blocks (1.8) per game, five-star forward Sarah Strong will now move her focus to a future college destination.

Regardless of where the talented forward ends up, they’ll likely be gaining a future freshman who will see plenty of playing time early on. Additionally, with her dominating consistently on both sides of the floor, her playstyle has the potential to translate immediately to the next level.
