Offseason recruiting gets started with a bang for LSU women’s basketball

LSU women’s basketball lands big-time class of 2025 guard commitment

Coach Kim Mulkey is wasting no time in her efforts to continue building the LSU women’s basketball program. After landing just one commitment in the 2024 cycle, the Tigers are already off to a hot start for the class of 2025, having just landed a commitment from talented guard Bella Hines.

Officially listed as the No. 31 player nationally, acccording to the espnW rankings, Hines is right on the edge of five-star status and has consistently shown the potential to see her stock boost even higher before the end of her junior year.

A product out of Eldorado High School in New Mexico, the four-star recruit has shown incredible range from an offensive standpoint. Standing at 5-foot-9, she’s not the tallest guard in the recruiting cycle, but she’s more than capable of driving to the basket and forcing opponents into tough situations on the defensive side of the ball.

With that said, it’s her shooting ability that particularly pops when watching her tape. Having averaged 32.5 points per game this past season, she can make shots from all over the floor – sometimes well beyond the three-point line.

Over the course of her three year career with Eldorado, she’s shot the ball 46 percent from the field, 74 percent at the free throw line and 31 percent from beyond the three-point line.

With Hines set to join the program in 2025, LSU is already showing the potential to be one of the best shooting teams in the country by that time, highlighted by fellow sharp shooters Mikaylah Williams and Flau’jae Johnson.

Hines picked the Tigers over some of the best teams in the country, including Alabama, Baylor, NC State, and possibly most notably Iowa.
