In back-to-back weeks, there has been a new No. 1 ranked team in the Associated Press women's college basketball poll.
Last week's rankings saw Notre Dame take over the top spot for the first time since 2019. This week, it is the Texas Longhorns, who are ranked No. 1 for the first time since 2004.

The Longhorns jumped up to the top spot after previous No. 1 Notre Dame fell to North Carolina State in double overtime on Sunday.
Texas has lost just two games this season, with those losses coming to two top-six teams in Notre Dame and South Carolina. The Longhorns have one of the most impressive resumes in all of women's college basketball, and they now sit in full control of earning the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Texas ranks No. 9 in the country in points per game (82.7) and second in average margin of victory (25.9).
Sophomore forward Madison Booker has been a huge part of the Longhorns' success this season. She leads the team in points per game (16.6) and three-point shooting percentage (43.5%). She is second on the team in rebounds (6.7) and steals (1.6).
Senior forward Taylor Jones is second in points behind Booker, as she averages 12.5 points per game, and she barely edges out Booker in rebounding with 6.8 boards per game.

With no remaining games left against ranked opponents this season, the Longhorns should cruise right into the SEC Tournament as the No. 1 seed.
They will receive a first-round bye before competing to win the first SEC championship in program history.
