While UCLA men’s basketball is arguably the most storied program in the history of the sport, the women’s team hasn’t had the same success. But thanks to a dominant 79-51 win over the Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Bruins are national champions for the first time.

UCLA didn’t trail for a second in the Final Four, beating Texas 51-44 before trouncing South Carolina, with Big 10 Player of the Year Lauren Betts posting her 15th double-double of the season en route to Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors.
