While most of the time these past few months, when news breaks of a top recruit committing to the USC Trojans, I am referring to the USC Football team, however, today I write about a different faction of the school athletic department as the USC Women’s Basketball team just landed the No. 1 player in the country, Saniyah Hall.
The Women of Troy, and head coach Lindsay Gottlieb, are building an absolutely dominant team with this latest commitment.
Saniyah Hall, a 6’2 combo guard out of Lorain, Ohio, is the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 class. Last season, she played for the USA U19 team and averaged 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game.

She had previously taken visits to North Carolina and crosstown rival UCLA, but ultimately decided to commit to the Trojans.
Gottlieb has now landed 3 of the last 4 No. 1 overall recruits.
Hall announced her commitment on NBA Today, and when asked why she decided on USC, Hall said:
“Ya, definitely, it just felt like home. I love all of my teammates; the girls there, they’re just so fun to be around. Definitely Lindsay [Gottlieb], I feel like the coaches, they have high support. She’s [Lindsay] definitely there to support me, and I’ve built a relationship with her. She’s a great coach.”
If Juju Watkins decides to stay past this next season (which is likely considering her injury could hold her out for most of the year), the USC Trojans’ starting lineup in 2026 could feature Watkins, Kennedy Smith, Jazzy Davidson, and Saniyah Hall.
Elite. Fight On.
