The Wisconsin Badgers will send a new addition to the team off to an international tournament set to kick-off in Canada in days.
Kyrah Daniels, a talented guard who was born in Colorado but whose family hails from Canada, transferred into the Wisconsin program this off-season. Daniels was a standout for Missouri State before announcing her intentions to transfer to Madison and play for coach Robin Pingeton. In two seasons, Daniels averaged 10.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game for the Bears.
This past season, Daniels averaged 12 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game for the Bears, marking serious improvement over her first season on the court. The junior will now have a chance to represent Canada at the GLOBL Jam, a major international tournament that pits the best college-age talent across multiple countries against each other.
Daniels will be joining team Canada for the tournament and should find herself on the court a decent amount during the showcase as well. The guard is a dynamic scorer on the court and someone who often can create shots out of seemingly nothing. The value Daniels adds to team Canada is immense, and the tournament is a great opportunity for Daniels to perform against elevated competition.
The experience for Daniels will be unmatched as the guard moved to transfer to a bigger conference previously in an effort to play against elevated competition. Sometimes, sharpening skills against the toughest players is the best way to improve and with the improvements Daniels has already made, the guard could impress during the tournament.
Daniels is set to be a key piece of the Wisconsin Badgers offense this upcoming season as the guard will bring confidence, skill, and versatility to the team. The guard has made 57 starts through 68 games and likely will make her way into the starting lineup for the Badgers in the future as well.
