The NCAA transfer portal has welcomed over 3,300 players since the end of the regular season, per On3Sports

After the first window of the transfer portal closed, commitment announcements flooded social media.

An intriguing, under-the-radar project who previously entered the portal, Chattanooga wide receiver Javin Whatley, recently made his final decision.

After three years as a consistent contributor for the Mocs, Whatley is heading to the Big 12, committing to the Arizona Wildcats.

Arizona finished the season with a 4-8 record and a 2-7 mark in Big 12 play, capping off the year with back-to-back losses.

During the 2024 college football season, Whatley recorded six touchdowns and 697 yards on 56 receptions. In his three-year career with the program, Whatley produced 18 touchdowns and 2,125 yards on 140 receptions.

Whatley led the Mocs to the No. 3 seed in the Southern Conference, finishing their season with a 7-5 record.

Whatley chose the Wildcats over Memphis and North Carolina. He was listed as the No. 128 wide receiver and No. 728 overall player in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings

Despite the rankings, Whatley brings tremendous experience to the Wildcats, having been named to the 2023 FCS All-America team and All-Southern Conference in 2022.
