The regular season is moving along across college football, and focus is beginning to shift to which teams will be playing in conference championships and the College Football Playoff. As we enter Week 7, Polymarket’s odds on who will win the SEC title game have been updated.
As of Wednesday morning, there is one overwhelming favorite in the eyes of Polymarket traders, in the Polymarket app. Two teams make up 73% of traders for the championship winner, with just four teams seeing 5% of trades or more.
Every week is a big one in the SEC, with premier matchups on the schedule each and every week. And with how early it is in the season, the path to get to Atlanta remains wide open.
After a 2-0 start to the season, Texas A&M has dropped three of its last four games. All four have come in SEC play, most recently losing 27-6 at Missouri in Week 6.
The Aggies have struggled offensively as of late, notably at quarterback with Marcel Reed. They’ll need a lot to go right down the stretch to even have a chance for Atlanta. Texas A&M hosts The Citadel on Saturday before traveling to Alabama next week.
Like Texas A&M, Auburn started the season 2-0 to kick off the Alex Golesh era. The Tigers then lost a tight 44-39 game against Florida, beat Vanderbilt 21-15 and then lost at Tennessee in Week 5, 24-14.
Auburn was on bye in Week 6, and they head into the week sitting at 3-2 overall and 1-2 in league play. They’ll be on the road at Georgia this week, kicking off a three-game stretch against currently ranked opponents.
Arkansas’ struggles have been on display in Ryan Silverfield’s first season. The Razorbacks have two non-conference wins against North Alabama and Tulsa, but are 0-3 in SEC play and just 2-4 overall.
They kept Week 6’s matchup against Tennessee closer than most expected, falling 24-17. Through three league games, Arkansas is being outscored 103-41. Next up is a road trip to Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Vanderbilt began the season a perfect 3-0 with a memorable victory against NC State in Week 3. Since then, the Commodores have began league play and are still searching for their first victory.
In those three games, losses to Auburn, Georgia and Ole Miss, Vanderbilt is being outscored 111-46. They’ll take their 3-3 overall record to Arkansas on Saturday, searching for their first conference win of 2026.
Kentucky has surged into the polls, but traders aren’t fully bought in on them being a contender to win the SEC just yet. The Wildcats have responded to a Week 2 loss against Alabama with four consecutive wins, the last two coming in overtime.
After beating South Carolina 35-34 in OT a week ago, they beat LSU by the same score this past Saturday. The Wildcats are now 5-1 overall and 3-1 in league play to begin Will Stein’s tenure, and plenty others are beginning to believe. Next up is a trip to Oklahoma on Saturday.
Tennessee made a quarterback change in Week 6, as George MacIntyre got the start while Faizon Brandon still dealt with an injury. The Volunteers won, but it was a tight 24-17 game against a struggling Arkansas squad.
Regardless, Tennessee is now 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in the SEC so far. They have three games left against currently ranked opponents, including in Week 7 at home against Alabama.
South Carolina won a pair of non-conference games to begin the year, but the start of SEC play was a struggle. The Gamecocks lost three in a row to kick off conference play, putting Shane Beamer’s future as the head coach into question.
In Week 6, though, South Carolina controlled play in a 38-19 win at Florida. They got star defender Dylan Stewart back in that game after he served a suspension, and he made an immediate impact. They’re 3-3 on the year and 1-3 in SEC play heading into the bye week, with Tennessee next up coming out of it in Week 8.
An impressive 4-0 start to the season had many putting Kamario Taylor into the Heisman conversation and Mississippi State into the College Football Playoff race. While both of those things are still on the table, the Bulldogs’ 56-23 loss to Alabama in Week 5 was a setback.
Still, they enter Week 7’s matchup at LSU with a 4-1 record and a 2-1 mark in league play. If Mississippi State bounces back, everything is still in play. The schedule won’t be easy, though, with three games left against currently ranked teams, including two in the top ten.
We’re only six weeks in, and Lane Kiffin’s LSU tenure has already been memorable. This past weekend, though, the rollercoaster hit a low, as the Tigers lost 35-34 in overtime on the road at Kentucky.
The loss drops LSU to 4-2 on the season and 1-2 in SEC play. Four currently ranked games remain on the schedule, including three straight to kick off November. If LSU survives that stretch, they have a shot to make it to Atlanta, but the margin for error has gotten thin.
It hasn’t always been pretty this season for Oklahoma, but Saturday went exactly how they wanted it to. Coming off of a blowout loss at the hands of Georgia, not many picked the Sooners to beat Texas in the Red River Rivalry. But here they are, winning 27-24 thanks to a late turnover and a clutch kick at the end.
Now, Oklahoma is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Four ranked games remain on the upcoming schedule, which will be hard to navigate. It begins with two straight against Kentucky and Mississippi State, starting on Saturday agianst the Wildcats.
Missouri fell to Mississippi State in Week 4 after a 3-0 start, but they’ve bounced back with a pair of wins. Both were at home, the first being 45-17 against Florida and then 27-6 against Texas A&M.
Now 5-1 on the year and 2-1 in SEC play, the Tigers are firmly in the mix. They have three current top ten games and four current ranked games left, and it’ll start this Saturday on the road at No. 9 Ole Miss.
Through four weeks, everyone was asking if Florida was “back” under the guidance of first-year coach Jon Sumrall. The past two weeks have been another story, with back-to-back losses against Missouri and South Carolina.
The Gators enter Week 7 sitting at 4-2 overall and 2-2 in league play. They have a very difficult stretch coming up, starting on the road at No. 7 Texas on Saturday before a bye week in Week 8.
Ole Miss remains a top ten team in the AP Poll, currently at No. 9. The Rebels are coming off of a dominating 52-17 road win at Vanderbilt this past weekend, improving to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in SEC play.
Trinidad Chambliss continues to impress, even with star running back Kewan Lacy dealing with injury. Three of Ole Miss’ next four games are against ranked teams, all currently inside the top 13. First up is this Saturday at home against No. 13 Missouri.
Texas has been at the center of college football for a while now, and it’s been especially true with Arch Manning leading the way at QB. The Longhorns started 4-0, but lost in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday, 27-24 against Oklahoma.
The loss was a frustrating one, and came after a late Manning interception led to the game-winning field goal at the end. But the schedule remains difficult. Texas hosts Florida this weekend, and then has four consecutive ranked matchups on the way.
To most, Saturday’s game between Alabama and Georgia looked like one between the SEC’s two best teams. Unfortunately for the Crimson Tide, it went the other way as they fell 20-17 in Tuscaloosa.
Still, Alabama is 5-1 on the season and 3-1 in SEC play. They have just two ranked opponents remaining as of now, which is light in comparison to many others across the league. This weekend is another important one, though, as they hit the road for a trip to Knoxville to take on No. 14 Tennessee.
Georgia is the consensus No. 1 team in the country after taking down Alabama in Tuscaloosa in Week 6. The Bulldogs continue to be a force defensively, and Gunner Stockton has played at an exceptional level to this point in the season.
Georgia is now 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in SEC games. They control their own destiny, and like Alabama, have just two currently ranked opponents left on the schedule. This weekend, Georgia hosts Auburn before heading into a bye week.
