4-Star TE Chooses Ole Miss Over Colorado, Notre Dame
USA TODAY Sports

Four-star tight end JC Anderson announced his commitment to the Ole Miss Rebels on Tuesday, according to On3 Sports. Anderson is a Mt. Zion, Illinois, native who has been a two-time All-State player during his high school career.

Anderson's commitment to Ole Miss was heavily influenced by head coach Lane Kiffin, but especially the efforts of the Rebels' assistant coaching staff. Their commitment to Anderson's future development made a lasting impression.

Ole Miss hosted an official visit for him on May 30. He followed up his visit to Oxford with trips to Auburn and Illinois, but the Rebels came on top once again in the recruiting battle.

He also spoke to On3 Sports' Billy Embody about why he felt that Ole Miss was the best fit for him.

"There are a lot [of] things that excite me about Ole Miss, but to name one, I would say coach Joe Cox," Anderson said. "He's one of the main reasons Ole Miss is a heavy contender for me. Sitting in meetings with him shows me how diverse he is with his football knowledge and how good of a teacher he is, and not only that, but he's also just a great guy to be around."

Anderson showcased his ability during his junior season at Mt. Zion High School, totaling 535 yards on 47 catches with seven touchdowns.

The high-profile prospect's versatility at tight end will unlock even more potential in Ole Miss's already explosive offense.

"What they explained to me, since I'm a hybrid between the two types of tight ends—receiving and blocking tight ends, is that I fit perfectly in their offense just for the simple fact that I won't have to be taken off the field," Anderson said.

He is a cornerstone for the future and the first tight end to join Ole Miss's 2026 recruiting class.

Currently ranked as the 156th overall player in his class by ESPN 300, Anderson's commitment gives Ole Miss another boost in the team recruiting rankings.
