Kyle McCord took a risk when he decided to transfer from Ohio State to Syracuse. While he didn't win as many games with the Orange, his stats skyrocketed.
He led college football with 4,7779 passing yards in 2024 and broke the ACC record for most passing yards in a season. McCord could've returned to college for another season but he has his eyes toward the NFL.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, the quarterback has revealed that he plans to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. McCord has spent four years in college, including three seasons at Ohio State so it's easy to understand why he's ready to move on.
However, there's no guarantee that he'll be draft. In Jordan Reid's 2025 quarterback rankings for ESPN, he had McCord ranked all the way down at 11. Reid noted that the quarterback's ball placement needs a lot of work and his 12 interceptions on the season are concerning.
Reid did praise McCord for quick decision-making and his growth in his first year at Syracuse. With Georgia's Carson Beck returning to college for another year and Texas' Quinn Ewers possibly returning for another season, McCord could start to move up draft boards but as of now, he's likely a Day 3 pick or an undrafted free agent signing.
