Alabama 5-Star Recruit's Mother Makes Heartfelt Pitch to Highly-Touted Prospects
Will McLelland-USA TODAY Sports

The Alabama Crimson Tide are on a generational recruiting run. They've bagged three bonafide 5-star recruits for the class of 2026, and Jackson running back Ezavier 'EJ' Crowell is another arguable 5-star athlete.

But it looks like Kalen Deboer and co have some extra help. Crimson Tide fan and 5-star recruit Xavier Griffin's mother, Jay Clay, has been publicly recruiting other prospects using social media.

First, when Safety Jireh Edwards announced the details of his commitment to Alabama, Clay responded with a message for him on X that said, "Let’s go Jireh!! Come on and be with your brothers ! You know what time it is!!"

Secondly, after Anthony 'Tank' Jones announced his finalists, Griffin's mother replied to the post on X with another pitch for the 5-star edge rusher:

This isn't even the first time she's recruited for Alabama. She was quietly helping out her favorite college football team before her son even chose to go there.

Clay convinced Jorden Edmonds' mom months before Griffin flipped his decision from committing to the USC Trojans.

She clarified her stance on this matter pm X with a post that said, "The difference between me and others, I want all of our boys to win not just mine!! I was a fan helping recruit because as a parent and as a former athlete I want these boys to thrive wherever they go!! It’s crazy how it’s worked out though, we will all be in the same place!"

Kalen DeBoer has faced scrutiny over his recruitment abilities. It was even believed by parts of the college football media that he's going to fail at recruiting in-state talent, something he's silenced with the sudden moves.

The Crimson Tide aren't just looking at the future, though; they have a solid foundation set in place for this season as well.

Ryan Williams is on his way to super stardom, along with other NFL prospects, and one could argue that they are just the right quarterback away from making a run for the national championship.
