The Alabama Crimson Tide entered a new chapter in 2024 under head coach Kalen DeBoer. The first-year head coach led the team to a 9-3 record, including a 5-3 record in SEC play.
While DeBoer was able to lead the Crimson Tide to three ranked victories, over Georgia, Missouri and South Carolina, the team also suffered its first three-loss season since 2010.
Following Nick Saban's retirement after the 2023 college football season, the shift of power may be longer than expected for DeBoer.
Fortunately, for DeBoer and the coaching staff, the Crimson Tide have a couple of elite young players to help build the program back to national title contention.
One of those players is Alabama true freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams.
Following a phenomenal regular season with the Crimson Tide, Williams was named a member of the Freshman All-SEC team, along with his teammate, defensive back Zabien Brown.

Williams originally committed to the Crimson Tide as the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 4 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Alabama native was listed as a five-star prospect, drawing immense interest from other powerhouse programs such as Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, Michigan and Texas.
During his freshman season with the Crimson Tide, Williams produced eight touchdowns and 857 yards on 45 receptions. He led Alabama's wide receiver room in total yards and touchdowns for the 2024 season.
Following a successful freshman campaign, Williams will be head to Tampa, Florida, on Dec. 31 for the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Alabama will face off against the Michigan Wolverines in a matchup where the Crimson Tide are listed as a 10-point favorite, per ESPN BET.
