Alabama football quietly turned up the heat in the 2026 recruiting cycle on Tuesday.

Per On3 Recruits, Crimson Tide offensive staff, including RB coach Robert Gillespie and General Manager Courtney Morgan, made an in-home visit to Miami Hurricanes four-star running back commit Javian Mallory.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 205 pounds, Mallory has amassed 3,221 rushing yards, 38 touchdowns, and chipped in another 761 receiving yards and 10 scores at West Boca Raton High School over four varsity seasons, per MaxPreps.

This earned him a scout grade of 80 from ESPN, ranking No. 272 nationally.

Mallory officially committed to the Hurricanes on March 22, 2025, turning down offers from Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and Florida State.

For Alabama, the interest in Mallory arrives at a pivotal moment.

Coach Kalen DeBoer’s debut campaign produced a 9-4 record, a 5-3 finish in the SEC, and a narrow 19-13 bowl loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

The Tide, ranked 17th in the final AP poll, were also the first team left out of the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff despite a 9-3 regular-season slate.

That outcome has only intensified the program’s focus on adding impact playmakers to DeBoer’s offense.

Looking ahead to 2025, Alabama faces a tough early-season schedule, starting with a neutral-site showdown against Florida State on August 30, a Wisconsin home game on September 13, and a trip to Athens for a showdown with Georgia on September 27.

The Tide's visit with Mallory may not guarantee a flip, but it sends a strong message that Alabama is willing to pursue every avenue to reload its roster with blue-chip talent.
