Former Alabama football players, AJ McCarron and Trent Richardson feel Tim Keenan III would fit right in with the Crimson Tide of old.
McCarron and Richardson were key players during the Nick Saban era in Tuscaloosa. Both of them were members of two National Championship teams at Alabama before moving on to the NFL.
Keenan has grown into one of the Tide’s leaders on and off the field over the last few seasons. McCarron sees shades of old Alabama in the Birmingham, Alabama native.
“I got the chance to spend some time with Tim Keenan about a week and a half ago,” McCarron said on “The Dynasty” podcast. “Massive human but even better person, but sitting there getting to talk to him for a couple of hours and listening to him talk, you want to talk about a guy that reminds me of like our day of playing and his mindset. He loves Alabama. He has a passion for not only the school, but for the game of football. It’s a dude that was under coach Saban and just knows how to work. And he’s one of those leaders on the defensive line, and I’m excited to watch not only TK (Tim Keenan), but the rest of the guys this year.”
Richardson has been a fan of Keenan since he was in high school.
“This guy has been special for a long time,” Richardson said. “I actually got to see him play in high school… He was lights out even in high school and he was young at the time, too. I kind of knew that he was going to be special, didn’t know what he was going to lean to. I’m glad he chose Alabama.”
Alabama football is hopeful Keenan can help lead them to success.
