Ivan Taylor revealed his new college commitment on Monday.

A four-star safety from the class of 2025, Taylor flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to Michigan in July. He switched allegiances again to yet another prestigious program.

"Happy to announce my commitment to the University of Alabama," Taylor posted Monday night on social media. "I'm blessed for the opportunity, and I look forward to playing for Coach [Kalen] DeBoer and his staff. Roll Tide!"

Taylor, the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor, is the No. 59 overall recruit and No. 7 safety among next year's class in the 247Sports composite rankings. While doubling as a track star, he tallied three interceptions in 2022 and four forced fumbles last year.

Per On3's Steve Wiltfong, Taylor explained his decision to commit to Alabama.

"Just the fit," Taylor said. "I think I’ll be a better fit there. There’s really nothing else to it."

Taylor cited a coaching staff that's treated him "like family." He's excited to play for DeBoer, who's led the Crimson Tide to an 8-2 start in his first season replacing the retired Nick Saban.

"Just the way he goes about things," Taylor said. "He’s very mellow about things. He lets everyone have their own style and play how they want to play. I think he was a good change."

The 6-foot, 174-pound prospect attended Alabama's 41-34 win over Georgia on Sept. 28. The "electric' atmosphere helped form his perception of the school.

"The ground was shaking. That was crazy to me," Taylor said. "The whole stadium was into it. You can tell everyone loves that program."

Ivan Taylor has a long way to go before matching his father's resume. Ike Taylor won two Super Bowls with 636 career tackles and 14 interceptions in 12 NFL seasons.
