Lotzeir Brooks has continued to make an impact as a true freshman for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Brooks has pulled in 322 yards on 20 receptions this season. The explosive wideout is averaging 16 yards per catch. Ryan Williams, who enjoyed a lot of success as a true freshman in 2024, has noticed growth from Brooks both on and off the field.
“He’s a guy that athletically is gifted beyond measures,” Williams said on Tuesday. “It’s actually his birthday today. Happy birthday, bro. You know, and he’s just extremely gifted. And, you know, just seeing him grow, you know, not just as a player, but off the field, it’s just been amazing to see. But definitely on the field, you know, he understands why he’s doing things and, you know, why he’s getting a certain look. And he just, I feel like he’s going to be a really good player for us.”
This is not the first time an Alabama wideout has spoken highly of Brooks’ growth. Isaiah Horton discussed Brooks becoming more comfortable earlier this season.
“He just brings speed, his explosiveness,” Horton told reporters in September. “He’s getting more and more comfortable, and that’s a scary sight.”
Brooks led Alabama in receiving against LSU. He finished the game with 67 yards with four receptions with his longest reception being 53 yards.
