The Alabama Crimson Tide has been recruiting intensely over the past several weeks, and the results have shown. Kalen DeBoer and his staff have seen the program land ten recruits over the last two weeks, and also have more five-star rated prospects than any other team from the 2026 class.
The Crimson Tide is also doing solid work in the 2027 class, already having two four-star players. They appear to be progressing well, as evidenced by one of the top quarterbacks in the class. Colton Nussmeier is ranked the No. 6 player at his position by On3 Industry Rankings and is the brother of LSU Tigers starting QB, Garrett Nussmeier.
The Texas native has received offers from some of the top programs, including the Georgia Bulldogs, the Florida Gators, and his brother's current school, LSU. Speaking to On3, Colton was very complimentary of Alabama.
“I like them a lot. … They’re a really good program and I think they’d develop me pretty well.”
He may be seen as the younger brother of a player who is already making waves in college football and a potential first-round NFL Draft pick. However, Colton is writing his own story, putting the top teams on notice with his performances for Marcus High School in Texas.
DeBoer added one of the top quarterbacks from the 2025 class in Keelon Russell, a five-star recruit. The staff has high hopes for the freshman, but also has Austin Mack, a four-star transfer from the Washington Huskies, who followed DeBoer to Alabama. The quarterback room looks strong, but adding another top signal caller from the 2027 class would be a positive move.
