Alabama linebacker Will Anderson was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press on Monday. Anderson, who was also named to the All-SEC First Team by the AP was one of nine members of the Crimson Tide to be recognized by the publication’s first and second teams.

Joining Anderson on the first team was defensive lineman Byron Young, defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry and offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor. The second team saw five Alabama players make the group including quarterback Bryce Young, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, kicker Will Reichard and defensive back Jordan Battle and Brian Branch.
