The University of Alabama football team arrived safely at Caesars Superdome on Monday for the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
On Tuesday, the Crimson Tide practiced and the media had a 15-minute window to view it.
Several reporters saw veteran inside linebacker Jaylen Moody standing off to the side. His right arm was in a sling, signaling an apparent injury. He did not practice, despite getting some work on an exercise bike. Moody, a fifth-year senior from South Carolina, played 10 games this year with eight starts at weakside linebacker. He recorded 50 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, a quarterback hurry, and a fumble recovery. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder battled a couple of injuries, including a bruised kidney. He is one of Alabama’s most vital players on special teams and brings a wealth of knowledge to the linebacker room.
Deontae Lawson, a redshirt freshman, is Moody’s backup.
He will be ready if the veteran does not go against Kansas State on Saturday.
