Alabama Loses Talented Tight End To The Transfer Portal
Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

The exodus from the Alabama football program following the retirement of Nick Saban continues. After wide receiver Isaiah Bond entered the portal, another offensive weapon decided to follow. Tight end Amari Niblack announced he will enter the transfer portal.

Alabama Loses TE Amari Niblack To The Transfer Portal

Niblack played in all 14 games this season, including four starts. He had 20 catches for 327 yards and four touchdowns in 2022 but couldn’t find his footing in 2023. He was a top prospect coming out of high school, as On3 rated him as a top 100 recruit. He is the fifth player to enter the portal for Alabama. The expectation is that we will see more players enter in the coming weeks. They have 30 days to decide whether they will stay with the program.

Can DeBoer Stabalize The Program?

New head coach Kalen DeBoer is going to have his work cut out for him. If there is one positive, we haven’t seen a huge wave of players enter. It has been a slow trickle, which might indicate that DeBoer is attempting to convince players to stay. Even if he can convince a small portion of the talent to stay, it would be a huge win for the program.

Can the Crimson Tide keep its status as one of the best programs in the country? It is going to be tough following Saban’s departure.
