Nehemiah McCary reported an offer from Alabama football Saturday after camping in Tuscaloosa and standing out.
McCary is a rising sophomore at Maplesville High School in Maplesville, Alabama. He now holds college football offers from Alabama, Alabama State, Troy and Georgia. His offer from the Crimson Tide came from the Tide’s outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson.
An Alabama offer is one McCary had dreamed about for years.
“It means a lot,” McCary said. “It has been my dream school since little league ball. It’s a good school with good coaches that’s gonna push you.”
Georgia became the third program to offer the 2028 prospect on Friday, a day before the Tide offered.
“It is a good program with a hard-working mentality,” McCary said when asked about his thoughts on the Bulldogs.
At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, McCary is an athletic prospect, who can clock in a 4.5 forty-yard dash. While he shines as an athlete on both sides of the football for Maplesville at the moment, the Tide will go after him as an edge prospect to play at the WOLF linebacker spot. McCary’s skillset makes him a perfect fit for the role.
