Alabama player has a potential NIL opportunity with brand name jam
Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

Alabama had Ga’Quincy McKinstry go big with the Kool-Aid brand for his name, image, and likeness.

His nickname came from his grandmother as he was born with a Kool-Aid smile, but Nick Saban calling him “Kool-Aid” on the field during the 2021 spring game set it off. McKinstry got a custom made jewelry piece with the No. 1, the letter G, and the Kool-Aid man holding the G. He got the Kool-Aid’s brand attention, but Alabama has a running back who has an opportunity to capture a NIL opportunity with a brand name jam. Jamarion “Jam” Miller, a third-year player, is an explosive playmaker.

He got on campus as a four-star prospect in the 2022 signing class from Tyler, Texas. Miller shortened his first name to Jam before last season and finished with two total touchdowns in 2023. He caught a pass from Jalen Milroe on a wheel route for a touchdown in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game versus Georgia. Miller had a conversation with Aaron Suttles of ‘Yea Alabama,’ the official NIL entity for Crimson Tide athletics. He spoke about an NIL endorsement he would love to have.

Miller would love to be endorsed by Smucker’s, a brand name jam.

“I went on Instagram, and I just followed them,” Miller said about Smucker’s. “People were like ‘what if you get a deal with Smucker’s?’ I was like, ‘that’s a good idea.’ Let’s hope one day they reach out to me.”

Miller would want a basic strawberry jam. We will see if he gets the call from Smuckers to endorse it.
