Despite it being mere hours since the official end of the 2024 college football season, sports books are already setting the lines for win-loss totals in 2025. But some of the numbers in the SEC are particularly interesting.
On Tuesday, FanDuel Sportsbook released its projected over/under win totals for the next season in the Southeastern Conference. Six teams in total were given projections: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and Texas.
But while FanDuel apparently thinks that there will be a three-way battle at the top, the outlet does not appear have Alabama as part of that battle. Georgia, Tennessee and Texas all received an over/under win total of 9.5 games. Alabama, on the other hand, received an over/under of 8.5 games, as did LSU. That would be good for no better than fourth in the SEC.

The lack of faith in Alabama shouldn't be too surprising. Kalen DeBoer's Crimson Tide are set to lose star quarterback Jalen Milroe to the 2025 NFL Draft, leaving the team with plenty of uncertainty at the most important position heading into next season.
It doesn't help that DeBoer's roster is going to lose even more of the elite players that he inherited from Nick Saban to a combination of transfers and graduations. And while his own recruiting efforts are going well, his 2025 recruiting class is not seen as the best in the country - which he probably needs as Texas and Georgia continue to run things.
Speaking of Georgia though, the Bulldogs will be hosting the Tide at Sanford Stadium this September. A loss there in what will be Alabama's first SEC game of the year could really set the tone for the entire season.
All of that is to say, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Alabama is struggling to be relevant in November, let alone December.
But the 2024 College Football Playoff showed us that a whopping three losses are not guaranteed to keep you out of national title contention. If Alabama can reach the end of the regular season with a 10-2 record, there's a very good chance they'll be competing for the national title.
What do you think Alabama's win-loss record will be next year?
