The 2024 college football season was the start of a new chapter for the Alabama Crimson Tide as Kalen DeBoer took over as head coach of the program following the retirement of seven-time national title-winning coach Nick Saban.

One holdover from the Saban era was quarterback Jalen Milroe, who led Alabama to an SEC championship and a College Football Playoff berth in 2023. But the 2024 season would not end in a playoff berth for the Crimson Tide, who finished 9-4 in DeBoer's first year. It was the first time Alabama failed to win 10 games in a season since 2007,

Milroe started all 13 games for Alabama, completing 64.3% of his passes for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also had 20 touchdowns and 726 yards on the ground.

On Thursday, Milroe made an announcement on his football future, declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, per On3 Sports

During his four-year career with the Crimson Tide, Milroe threw for 6,016 yards and 45 touchdowns with a 64.3 completion percentage. He also rushed for 1,577 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Milroe will now be entering a draft class that is expected to have these quarterback prospects: Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward, Quinn Ewers, Jaxson Dart and Carson Beck.

Beck and Dart have already announced their intentions to pursue a professional career. Ward, Ewers and Sanders have yet to make their official announcements.
