Alabama starting linebacker duo is wired the ‘same’

Woodson was asked about playing alongside Metz after the game.

“We are the same way, wired,” Woodson said. “We sell out for our team. We are really intense and then we’re dialed in. We study together. So, we know what’s coming. He is a really great partner to have along with QB Reese and the other guys that roll in there.”

Alabama’s defense was stifling as a whole throughout the Crimson Tide’s win over Kentucky. The unit held the Wildcats to one offensive touchdown and a field goal. Kalen DeBoer feels the play of the unit forced Kentucky’s offense out of its game plan.

“We gave them the seven points, at the beginning,” DeBoer said. “We really gave them another three on the field goal at the end of the half. They hit the one scramble, I guess. I felt like we really were doing a good job of keeping them under wraps, defensively most of the game, and then when we started getting the lead, I think the momentum and now we started playing from the lead. They can’t play their game, and they’re forced to throw it a little bit more, and then our pass rush gets home.”

The Tide returns to action Saturday when it welcomes Florida State.
