Alabama to swing for the fences to keep the 'good vibes rolling' as five-star prospect makes critical visit

The Alabama Crimson Tide is hoping to land two key pieces of its future defense as the official visit season begins this weekend. With linebacker Cincere Johnson considering Alabama, Kalen DeBoer and his staff also want to grab the top safety prospect they're pursuing, Jett Washington.

On Tuesday, Washington announced his two remaining official visits to take in June. He'll be in Tuscaloosa this coming weekend before heading to USC, Ohio State, and Oregon.

The Las Vegas, Nevada, five-star playmaker is truly considered a toss-up entering this summer season. On3's recruiting prediction machine has him almost evenly split between Oregon, Alabama, and Ohio State.

Assistant coach Colin Hitschler and safeties coach Jason Jones are the top recruiters for Alabama in this race.

“I’m looking to keep building relationships with the coaches and see if it’s a place I can see myself staying at,” Washington told BamaOnLine of his upcoming visit. “Really excited to get around the guys again.”

“We’ve talked pretty often, actually. I talk to them a lot, (Coach Jones) a couple times a week. I’m getting back out there soon,” Washington said. “Ever since he got there after last season our relationship has been really good. We talk one to two times per week, maybe more.”

The massive 6-foot-4, 200-pound versatile defender is certainly one of the most unique prospects on the market. But can they land Washington?

It'll be a tough sell, so Alabama must go all-out this coming weekend.

Five-star safety Jett Washington is the top-ranked prospect on campus this weekend. It will be his third visit. It’s always good vibes when the Washington camp is around Alabama. They’ll aim to keep it rolling this weekend. Oregon is definitely one of the other front-runners for Washington. Alabama is swinging for the fences here.
