Alabama football picked up verbal commitment from some talented recruits during the summer including five-star prospects, Cederian Morgan, Ezavier Crowell, Xavier Griffin and Jireh Edwards.
Great official visits helped seal the deal for several of these prospects as multiple current Alabama players eagerly stepped in to help convince these talented recruits they could be successful in Tuscaloosa.
The Tide’s veteran defensive lineman, Tim Keenan III shined a light on the effort current Alabama players put in during these visits at SEC Media Days.
“Alabama, it’s a business, but it definitely have that family feel to it,” Keenan said. “Like the players, during the OVs and everything like that, you’ve got players that want to go and host these recruits and everything like that to show them a good time, show them how we do — I even had — we grilled out at my house and everything. It’s always good to have the recruits see us in the shoes that they want to be.”
Griffin committed to Alabama over opportunities at Ohio State, Texas and other prominent programs after de-committing from USC. He raved about the time he spent with his now future teammates after his official visit before he committed to Alabama.
“I would say the brotherhood, the older guys and freshmen just took me in like I was already a part of the team,” Griffin said when asked about his biggest takeaway from the visit.
The Crimson Tide’s 2026 recruiting class still has room to add more talent, and this continued effort by their current players should continue to be a weapon in Alabama’s pursuit of a top-ranked class.
