Alabama football’s coaches and players are high on Rico Scott and his potential ahead of the 2025 football season.
Scott flashed late in the 2024 season when he had an impressive performance against Mercer in limited action. Scott finished the game with 37 yards and a touchdown on two receptions. This performance led him to play more snaps against Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
The Pennsylvania native had a strong offseason, and Alabama is hopeful it translates onto the field in 2025.
“Rico has been great,” Alabama wide receiver, Germie Bernard said. “He ran 23 miles per hour, 23.5, like that’s moving. That guy has put a lot of work within the weight room, with off-the-field stuff, and he’s just continuing to improve. He asked a lot of questions. His knowledge of the game has expanded. I’m really excited to see what he’s going to step up and do for us.”
Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is also high on Scott and his potential. Grubb feels Scott can be a presence during the upcoming season.
“One of our fastest guys on the team,” Grubb told reporters on Thursday while discussing Scott. “Super physical player, willing to run through people and then the level of detail he has in his route running for a young player and the versatility, he can play inside, outside, He’s going to be a presence this year.”
Alabama football’s wide receivers are expected to be one of the strengths of the Tide’s offense.
