The No. 17 Alabama Crimson Tide are set to face a massive road showdown against SEC rival No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs in a game that could have major implications for both the conference and the College Football Playoff race.
Georgia enters the matchup undefeated, while Alabama’s only loss came against Florida State. This game marks Alabama’s first true test since that loss, which drew heavy criticism after the Tide were dominated on the field.
One player who will need to step up is sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams. In the moments leading up to kickoff, Williams drew attention on social media with a three-word message written on his eye black: “Audience of 1.”

Ryan Williams burst onto the scene as a true freshman last season for the Crimson Tide, making jaw-dropping plays while still just 17 years old.
Now, the pressure has begun to mount, with high expectations for him to emerge as one of college football’s elite outside receivers. He is especially compared to fellow star sophomore wideout Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State, who helped the Buckeyes win the national championship last season.
Williams has appeared in only two games for Alabama this season, missing time after sustaining a concussion in Week 1, where he caught five passes for 30 yards.
However, against Wisconsin back on Sept. 13, he showed exactly what he’s capable of, hauling in five receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns—production that Alabama’s offense will need if they hope to compete not only for the College Football Playoffs but also for a national championship.
