The 4-2-5 swarm defense is now officially at the University of Alabama.
Kane Wommack, a former head coach at South Alabama, has joined his good friend, Kalen DeBoer, as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Crimson Tide. Wommack shared a heartfelt message on social media to South Alabama for all the love and support the Jaguars’ program and fans showed his family. He is now looking forward to getting to work in Tuscaloosa.
Wommack, 36, produced a top-15 total defense nationally last season at South Alabama. Its defensive numbers improved each year under him, and DeBoer saw Wommack’s potential during his time at Indiana.
