The Minnesota Golden Gophers scored another victory on the recruiting trail, securing a commitment from Alexandria kicker Daniel Jackson on Friday night.

"I want to thank all coaches and people throughout this recruiting process for believing in me and impacting my life in ways I could have never imagined," Jackson said in a post on X. "With that being said, I am COMMITTED to the University of Minnesota."

Jackson, who shares the same name as current Gophers receiver Daniel Jackson, has been a standout for the Cardinals throughout his career and kicked a 52-yard field goal for Alexandria during the Class 5A quarterfinals against Rogers last November.

Jackson also has a big leg on kickoffs that was on display during the Phase 3 Kicking Camp last month.

Jackson becomes the seventh member of P.J. Fleck's 2025 recruiting class and the third Minnesota commit joining three-star edge rusher Emmanuel Karmo (Robbinsdale Cooper) and three-star wide receiver Cameron Begalle (Andover).

The Gophers' 2025 recruiting class currently ranks 48th in the nation and 12th in the Big Ten according to 247Sports.com.
