Tennessee should always be a player to watch in the transfer portal, especially for top pass catchers. Vols head coach Josh Heupel has ensured wide receiver production throughout his coaching tenure, whether at Tennessee, UCF, or Missouri. They've already set their eyes on a few top targets in this portal cycle, including South Carolina wide receiver Antwane Wells Jr.

On3's Pete Nakos reported that the Vols and Texas Longhorns are two early suitors standing out to the talented Wells. He caught 68 passes for 928 yards and three touchdowns in 2022 for the Gamecocks. Wells starred against the Vols in the Gamecocks' 2022 upset of Tennessee, totaling 12 touches for 180 all-purpose yards.
The offseason is almost underway for Tennessee football. The Vols have concluded the regular season and are now focusing on roster construction for the 2023 season. If players don't transfer within that window, they must wait until May following spring practice to enter the transfer portal.
