Arch Manning addresses viral pregame tumble

Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns are all smiles after their towering 59-7 win over the Texas State Bobcats on Saturday, so he really has no reason to be embarrassed right now.

However, there was a little embarrassing moment before the game, when the Texas quarterback took a tumble during the Longhorns' entrance down a smoke-filled tunnel for their season opener.

It was a funny moment that got shared a lot online, but it could have been dangerous if he had gotten injured. Thankfully, he didn't, and now he's laughing it off.

When asked by a reporter about that moment, Manning joked about it. He also admitted that it was just hard to see where he was going and what was around him with that thick smoke.

"It was definitely a shock," Manning said, according to a video shared by Fox College Football. "I was definitely thrown off. It's hard to see in that smoke. It's a little deceiving, but it was good getting my first hit before the game starts and get ready to roll."

Manning wasn't joking during the game. He passed for 305 yards and four touchdowns during the matchup.

Next up is a big game against Ohio State in a must-see matchup. Both teams are historically among the best in college football. It'll certainly be a test for Manning, and hopefully, he'll be able to navigate the smoke a little better this time around.
