Arch Manning delivers great quote about decision to stick with Texas

Arch Manning spent the last two seasons as a backup at Texas when he could have started for countless other programs, and fans will love the reason the quarterback gave for why he has decided to stick with the Longhorns.

Manning played sparingly enough as a freshman two years ago to maintain redshirt eligibility. He then served as a backup behind Quinn Ewers last season, though he got some playing time when Ewers was injured.

It goes without saying that Manning would have had numerous multimillion-dollar offers from rival schools if he entered the transfer portal. When asked on Thursday why he chose not to leave Austin, the 19-year-old had an awesome response.

“I want to be the quarterback at the University of Texas. Sometimes it’s worth the wait,” Manning said.

Manning knew the situation he was getting into when he enrolled at Texas, and he has chosen to see it through. Even if he played behind Ewers the last two years, he still gained valuable experience and knows what to expect from Steve Sarkisian’s offense.

NFL teams have likely taken note of the maturity Manning has shown, which will only lead to a move favorable view of him whenever he decides to turn pro. His response about why he chose not to transfer from Texas was right on par with what he said earlier this year about his fame.
