While Texas quarterback Arch Manning is by far the biggest name on the Longhorns' roster, he has shown time and time again that he loves to support his teammates.
Whether it was going to St. Louis to help out with a football camp for wide receiver Ryan Wingo, or cheering on his teammates who were drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, Manning is a big team-first guy. Texas fans were shown another example of this on Tuesday, after it was revealed that fifth-year senior linebacker, Marshall Landwehr, was put on scholarship.
With the news being announced by "Top Gun" actor Glen Powell, and surprising the entire team who immediately erupted into loud cheers for Landwehr, Manning made sure to share the video to his social media.
"What's up, Longhorns? It's Glenn Powell, fellow Texas alum," Powell said. "I have a newfound respect for what it takes to join a football team. It takes grit, it takes grind, and most importantly, it takes heart. Marshall, your hard work has not gone unnoticed. That is why Texas is giving you a scholarship."
After celebrating with his teammates, Landwehr gave a heartfelt speech that will surely pull on your heartstrings.
"Y'all are a part the biggest reason why I show up everyday," Landwehr said. "Been doing this for five years, it doesn't get old. Keep working this is the dream man."
A speech that left Manning, who was sitting front and center, the rest of the Longhorns applauding and dapping him up.
This past season, Landwehr totaled six tackles, with three of them coming in the team's 52-0 win over Colorado State.
He and the Longhorns will kick off this season at Ohio State in a game that is controversially on Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" on Aug. 30.
