Leavitt was Michigan State’s backup last year but got quite a bit of playing time. He played in four games last season. He went 15/23 for 139 yards, 2 TDs, and two interceptions.
Leavitt was a top 20 QB in last year’s high school class out of West Linn, Oregon. He was a four-star with offers from Florida State, Washington, Arizona, and Washington State. In his senior year of high school, he had over 3000 passing yards and 36 TDs. Leavitt is a dual-threat QB as well. He had over 600 yards in high school and averaged 5.2 yards per carry last year for the Spartans.
We knew Arizona State would bring in a QB to help with depth, but bringing in a highly touted one in the same class as Jaden Rashada makes things very interesting going forward. Kenny Dillingham may have an interesting offseason on his hands after this move.
